Ninjas To Go

Don't you sometimes have trouble following all the names of the characters your kids talk about?  So I create all five color Ninjagos after this post to remember their names.

A few weeks ago, my uncle sent me a picture of a couple of men standing in the park holding a sign, "Ashes To Go" on Ash Wednesday.  He was wondering what else in America would be to go?  Here is another tip.  Whenever I mass-produce these little Nugget holders, I put them in the Stamp Cases flat with everything ready to go.  All I have to do is pop them up and put the Hershey's Nuggets inside when I am ready to finish.

Have a great day, Ninjas!

LNS Challenge 212: St. Patrick Card

I made this St. Patrick Card using this tutorial here.  I am also entering it in the Late Night Stampers Challenge 212:  Green.

It's actually a birthday card for our Pastor.  He has a very good sense of humor and we love him very much for all that he does for our church, community and school!  We tease him that he should go over to Rome to see what he can do since the Pope is resigning.  He said that Rome wouldn't agree with him.  Well, perhaps he can be our next Bishop here then. :)

This is my work in progress.  Although our Pastor doesn't have beard and mustache, this young Bishop looks too young on the card.  So now he looks like St. Patrick because he is Irish!  Happy Birthday, Father Seamus!

Have a wonderful day!

MDS - Angry Birds Favors

We had such a wonderful time with the kids' Birthday party!  The weather was beautiful for miniature golfing and playing arcades afterwards.  Here are the boys with their cake.  It seemed like I only turned around for a few seconds and an earthquake hit the cake!  Happy Bird-day, boys! :)

Here is a picture of the favors for the younger kids.  Most of these are made with labels I generate from My Digital Studio (MDS).

The older kids get a little bit different favors.

Each kid gets an Angry Birds cake pop designed by Vy Passetti.  They were a big hit at the party.  Thanks, Vy!

MDS - Angry Birds Hugs and Kisses

I create some Angry Birds coloring books with book rings for the little kids.

I love the last page.  They finally found a pig that they like!

Even these Angry Birds will finally be Happy Birds.  They will give Piglet many Hugs and Kisses!  This is not my original idea, but I generate the labels myself from My Digital Studio (MDS).

MDS - Angry Birds Sling Shots

I bought these sling shots from Oriental Trading for the older kids, but there are no balls in them!  I got a tip from Lorri Heiling to either use the whiffle balls that she used or ping pong balls.  Thanks, Lorri!  So I found these table tennis balls to be a little bit more sturdier.  This way I can add these cut Angry Birds faces that I generate from My Digital Studio (MDS).  I also added a label for each sling shot.

I added Mod Podge on top to protect the images on the balls

MDS - Angry Birds Play Doughs

I never really like (cleaning up) play doughs!  Upon hearing that it's good for child development to improve handwriting and such, I decide to allow my kids to have play doughs in the house.  The moment that happened last Christmas, my husband and I spent a lot of time picking up and scraping dried play doughs after the Christmas party!  We tossed all of them in the trash and Jake still got a full set of Cookie Monster toys without play doughs.  I learned to make home made play doughs for him and asked him to clean up after he's done.

Anyway, I want to make some play doughs and give them to his friends and cousins.  However, I realize I don't have enough containers.  In looking for the containers, I found these colorful containers with play doughs in them.  So I decide to add Angry Birds labels generate from My Digital Studio (MDS) to them.  What should we call these favors for the Angry Birds theme?

Maybe Angry Birds Saliva?  Swallows build their nest with their saliva and it's very expensive.  Kids can build sling shots and Angry Birds with these and it would be inexpensive!

MDS - Angry Birds Sausage Patties

I saw the idea of Angry Birds fried eggs served for a party on the web, so I thought why not create sausage patties?  So I create these.

These peppermint patties are so perfect for Angry Birds Sausage Patties.

I sandwich the patties in between the new Gumball Green (such a perfect color for the pigs) card stock scallop circles.  I add MDS labels on the back.  I stamp the pigs in matching color ink for the front.  The new ink pad is really awesome!  It is wet long enough for me to sprinkle some clear embossing powder and heat emboss these pigs. :) (No pigs are harmed during this process.)

MDS - Angry Birds Bottle Cap Charms

I've been wanting to smoosh bottle caps for a long time, but never did!  My friend, Angela, brought her son over for a play date with my kids a couple of months ago.  Codye was wearing an adorable bottle cap on his jacket.  I also saw this idea on the web awhile ago, too.  So I decide to make these for my son's birthday party.

My husband got me brand new bottle caps from a beer brewer.  I create 1" circle images from My Digital Studio (MDS) using images from the Internet.  I punch a hole with a Crop-A-Dile (retired) and smoosh the bottle caps with the Big Shot.

Using Crystal Effect, I add a little bit inside the smooshed bottle cap to act as glue, add the punched image,  smooth out any air at the bottom and then add a lot more Crystal Effect on top.   Air bubbles can be removed with a needle or safety pin. I then leave them dry overnight.  I add a jump ring and lanyard hook to each so the kids can hook it up with anything they like!

MDS - Angry Birds Eggs

Let the fun begins today!

Warning to the pigs!  They better not eat these eggs.

These are egg-shaped chalks that I add labels generate from My Digital Studio (MDS) for the younger kids. (The pigs will be squashed by these giant eggs if they try to steal them!)  Click HERE for a 30-day free trial of MDS.

The older kids get gum balls in 1" x 8" cellophane bags with a topper for their eggs .  My son and I found this stamp set (which I had to condition and unmount) at an Asian gift store.  I heat emboss the image before coloring it with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie markers, mount it onto a scallop square before pop it up on the folded piece of Daffodil Delight card stock.

The Birds Are Calling!

Today is a starting of Stampin' Up! new catalog!  I've updated my side bars with the new on-line catalogs.   No, I haven't gotten a chance to play with my new toys yet.  Tomorrow is my two sons' birthday party.  I got a lot of Angry Birds favors to share with you!  My first favor is not stamp related.

I got these bird whistles from Oriental Trading.  I modified them to add the angry eyebrows.

I started out by adding felt eyebrows, but decided to go with the hand-drawn eyebrows instead.

For reference as to where I got my ideas, please check out this Pinterest Board of mine here. No, I don't pin a lot - just enough for you to see the comparison of what I make to what inspires me. :)

Angry Birds - Yellow Bird

This will be a quick post.  My son has been asking me to make this Yellow Angry Bird since he saw my Candy Corn triangle box here.  I finally got around to make this Speedy Bird for Valentines.  This bird would do anything for his eggs so this is "For you, Sweethearts."  Sweet Tart bag is folded and tucked inside.  This bird has a conviction for love...

Pokémon for Christmas - MDS

My kids are crazy about Pokémon! Their Christmas gifts are full of Pokémon characters, including their shirts! So I put together a page on MDS about "A few of my Favorite Things" for Christmas. I haven't figured out how to make the black marks on Pikachu's ears digitally yet.

I put together these Birthday Party favors for them about 1-1/2 years ago. Even now, they still have not outgrown them.

Enjoy!

Angry Birds - the Pig

So did you enjoy looking at the red Angry Bird? Did you wonder why I got an extra wrapped Hershey's Nugget in this post? It's for the Pig!

I know he's not anyone's favorite! My son, Ryan, said that when you got a good guy in a game, you gotta have the bad guy too!

Ryan said it doesn't look exactly like the Pig. Maybe with Green Galore card stock (retired), it would look more like him. I used Lucky Limeade and Certainly Celery card stocks. I got more of these on my mind, but we'll save it for next year. I got to stick to Christmas theme now.

Have a great day!

Angry Bird Nugget Holder

I couldn't resist Black Friday shopping this year! My sisters started midnight and they asked me to join them. I rather sleep and wake up early! The lines weren't so bad at all so I was lucky!

When my son and husband first started to play Angry Birds, I was wondering why they don't name it something nicer. My son explained to me that the pigs stole their eggs so they got angry. OK, they are cute, but can't they be Adorable Birds instead? It seems like it's only a game so they don't think too much into this kind of emotion. I like something happier, but I guess it won't sell as much! My husband teased me and asked if I am going to make a happy bird that looks like Angry Bird? Hahaha! I'll just go with what it is!

Isn't he adorable on the sling shot? I see a lot of Birthday Party with this theme lately and I thought I can also make it for Christmas with different wrap as shown on this post. All I have to do is add some cords and I can hang him up on my Christmas tree like these critters that I made a couple of years ago!

Happy shopping!

It's A Wrap Holidays

Happy Thanksgiving! I don't have a turkey for you because I am sure most of you will be having turkey today. :) However, I have a couple of birds and a pumpkin to show you. I am featuring It's A Wrap Holidays stamp set.

I love wrapping Hershey's Nuggets and Punch Arts! So of course I got to have this stamp set and combine it with my Punch Arts! Here is the pumpkin with 3 Hershey's Nuggets inside for Thanksgiving.

Yes, that is an Angry Bird. I will show the details soon. :)

Paulina's Birthday

I got a couple of things to share with you today. I got a lot of requests asking me how to make the Spice Cake Purse. So click here for the updates on how to make the purse.

Last Saturday was my younger sister Paulina's Birthday. She flew up to the Bay Area so we can celebrate her "milestone". She joined my Fun and Fast Christmas Card Class(more on that later) and we had Dinner at Bijou Restaurant. It was delicious!

I made her this Beautiful Butterfly card which I CASE from Meg Loven. Paulina loves it!

On Monday, we got together again with our youngest sister Kathy to make these bird houses since she loves the Bird Houses that I posted here. They get to choose their favorite colors. Look closely at the purple bird house, Kathy puts shadows on her leaves. So cute!

Paulina is proud of her creation.
So cute, don't you think?

Spice Cake Purse

Today and tomorrow, I am going to show you a few gift ideas that I fold the paper without the need for cutting into it.

I've made a lot of these purses last year for my nieces and son's teachers for Christmas. For this purse, I change the dimension a little bit since the gift card fit too snugly that it was hard to put in. The dimension of this one ends up being 3-3/4" x 2-1/2". I can add little treat inside as well.

Edit for update: I got a lot of requests asking me how to make this purse. I can't remember exactly where I saw it first, but I searched and found a tutorial on YouTube for you. The change I made was instead of scoring the two sides with 1-1/4", I scored mine at 1-1/8" so it's a little bit wider. I hope this helps!
