Chick Critters
My friend, Helen Schadegg, sent me a picture of her Chick Critter a few years ago. I decided to make these for my son's class as they were so cute and fast to make! I only made a couple of changes to these punch art chicks.
I could easily create my own chick with current products. However, I want to acknowledge someone special who crosses a path in my life. Helen was the person who inspired and ignited my first flame for Nugget Critters at the 2008 Convention. She gave me my very first Nugget Critter, the Penguin, as seen below (I know it's not Christmas, but bear with me :) ) and then I modified to make it into an ornament as seen here! I've been making hundreds of these with different designs from there on.
Here's the story. I ran out of swaps. After making so many oohs and aahs with her penguin, she gave me one in return for a promise to send her a photo of my swap. Not only did I send her a photo of my swaps, I also sent her the above photo to show her how inspired I was from that one little gift! I will never forget that act of kindness from a stranger from MN. Thank you so much Helen, my dear friend! I am forever grateful for your kindness and friendship!
So here is the photo of my swaps made from Embrace Life stamp set. I love this set! I did have a passion for punch art from the very beginning! What's your passion and who is the first person to ignite your fire? Leave me a comment with your email address and I will pick out 3 winners to give away my Cute Critters Collection tutorial from this post. If you already purchase this tutorial, I will send you my Frog Critter tutorial. I will announce and send the tutorial to the winners on Monday after Easter.
Have a wonderful day!

It all started with scrapbooking. I was looking for a slot punch and didn't know where to find it. I looked on line and noticed a company called Stampin Up sold one. I called the demo near me, but she didn't answer so I called someone near our church (since I'm always there). She invited me to a class and send me pictures and I've been in love with card making ever since.
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE nugget holders. Love to collect all the different ones that people make. And everybody just LOVES to get them. Thank you so much for always sharing your wonderful creative ideas.
ReplyDeleteI have always been a crafter since I was a kid but just got started doing paper crafts for friends and family as gifts about 15 years ago. At that time I was making things for my sunday school and then went on to create for my nieces school classes. I just adore the nugget holders! My e-mail is sherryld@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI just love all nugget holders and your little chicks are so adorable. My e-mail vegasgem@cox.net
ReplyDeleteI decided more than 9 years ago to start scrapbooking since I was expecting my first child. I signed up for a class with a lady who sold Stampin' Up (which I had not heard of) with some friends. I fell in love with so many of the stamp sets but my friends kept asking me how I would use them on a scrapbook page. I was NOT going to make my own cards as I had a huge collection of them; I was addicted to buying cards. I started attending some of her card classes also just to have more but soon was addicted to making them as well. I gave all of my bought ones to my sister and have been making my own ever since!! I love to create with paper!! I am constantly amazed at how easy it is to make such cute and beautiful things with just paper.
ReplyDeleteI love your creations, they are very inspiring!! Thanks, Rachael

ReplyDeleteFour years ago,I decided that I was ready to take the plunge and commit to a Stampin' Up monthly club.....and I have loved every minute of it!!!!!! My demonstrator also offers an occasionally camp and of course I wouldn't miss a one. My passion is more in the paper crafting vs card making....recently a group of ladies at my church made over 100 pinwheels to decorate for a ladies' retreat. Now we are working on favors for the Mother/Daughter banquet which will require about 200 of them. We have done a Crafter Connection day and I have used several of the papercrafts that I have found on various blogspots. Your nugget holders are adorable ..perhaps they will be a favor of the future. Email is souperstef@hotmail.com---Thanks....Stephanie
ReplyDeleteHow Fun is your Little Duck!!!! I think these chicks are fun too... I LOVE your Frog... FUN...FUN...FUN....
