Tinkerbell Nugget Holder

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I have something else that is green I want to share with you today:  Tinkerbell Nugget Holder.

I created Tinkerbell for Vrushti, my friend's daughter, and her friends to make at her 8th Birthday party.  They had so much fun (and a little confusion with the bent leg). :)  We also took pictures of all the kids with Vrushti and then made a scrapbook page for each guest

The tea box was so cute that I couldn't pass in re-using it.  You know, I feel like "going green" lately.  It stored the little bear and candy I made for Vrushti.

Her expression and eyes are not quite exactly like Tinkerbell herself, I must admit, but it still make Fairy Vrushti very happy!  Thank you for letting me share my creativity with your daughter and her friends, Setu!  It was such a beautiful day!

Have a wonderful day!

Ninjas To Go

Don't you sometimes have trouble following all the names of the characters your kids talk about?  So I create all five color Ninjagos after this post to remember their names.

A few weeks ago, my uncle sent me a picture of a couple of men standing in the park holding a sign, "Ashes To Go" on Ash Wednesday.  He was wondering what else in America would be to go?  Here is another tip.  Whenever I mass-produce these little Nugget holders, I put them in the Stamp Cases flat with everything ready to go.  All I have to do is pop them up and put the Hershey's Nuggets inside when I am ready to finish.

Have a great day, Ninjas!

Hello Kitty Nugget Holders

Happy Chinese/Vietnamese New Year!

These Hello Kitty Nugget Holders are made for the girls in Jake's class for Valentines Day.  Aren't they cute?

The hardest part is drawing the whiskers!  I used Itty Bitty Punch Pack (Heart and Circle for the bow), Cupcake Builder (eyes), 1/4" handheld (nose) punches.

Whenever Jake is in my craft room, he has other ideas of his own.  He added a "paintbrush" to the Kitty!  I thought it was a lollipop!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Ninjago Nugget Holders

I couldn't help making these Ninjago Nugget Holders after making this Ninjago card.  The punch art is really easy!

I use the Curly Label, Owl Builder and Wide Oval Punches.  The Paper Snips help trim the eyebrows.

These guys are ready for the boys in Jake's class for Valentines Day.

Have a great weekend!

Stinkin' Cute Skunks: Take Two

I am making more favors for the WCEA Team members who will be coming to my kid's school next week for the school accreditation.  Here are the Skunk Nugget Critters again.  The tutorial can be found here.

I use the word "Love" from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set and embossed it in White Embossing Powder.  This is great not only for Valentines Day, but also for weddings, baby showers, or just a nice way of saying thank you!

To emboss or not emboss when using White Craft Ink?

Embossing is a sure winner!  Have a wonderful day!

Angry Birds Nugget Holder II

This is a quick post to show another Angry Birds Nugget Holder.  I didn't have enough time to finish them and pop them into the kid's birthday party favor bags. I tend to simplify things when I mass produce and it's another version based on the image I found on the Internet.

I use the cut materials, however, to do a quick demo kit on the go while I was in Southern California.  It was fun and everyone enjoyed making it!

Follow me on Pinterest HERE for more Angry Birds Party ideas that I use.

Have a great day!

Dr. Seuss' Inspirations

If you guessed the Lorax from the last post, you are absolutely right!  The movie was released last month.  It seems that his eyes are blue, but when you buy color Googlie Eyes, you only get like a pair of each color! :)

My kids brought home these hats that they made in school to celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday in March.  I made these Party Favors for a few weeks already.  I use a paper towel roll as my guide to create the container which looks like the hat from The Cat in the Hat.

I inserted some wrapped bubble gums inside the 1" x 8" cellophane bags (#124134).  I use the new Small Oval Punch (#120908) and Large Oval Punch (#119855) to create the Cat in the Hat punch art.  I inserted these favors in the container to decorate as my center piece.  I missed the old Small Oval Punch and I thought I would not have too much use on the new Small Oval Punch.  However, I was wrong as I use it a lot, even on the Lorax!

Have fun creating!

Chick Critters

My friend, Helen Schadegg, sent me a picture of her Chick Critter a few years ago. I decided to make these for my son's class as they were so cute and fast to make! I only made a couple of changes to these punch art chicks.

I could easily create my own chick with current products.  However, I want to acknowledge someone special who crosses a path in my life.  Helen was the person who inspired and ignited my first flame for Nugget Critters at the 2008 Convention. She gave me my very first Nugget Critter, the Penguin, as seen below (I know it's not Christmas, but bear with me :) ) and then I modified to make it into an ornament as seen here!  I've been making hundreds of these with different designs from there on.

Here's the story.  I ran out of swaps.  After making so many oohs and aahs with her penguin, she gave me one in return for a promise to send her a photo of my swap.  Not only did I send her a photo of my swaps, I also sent her the above photo to show her how inspired I was from that one little gift!  I will never forget that act of kindness from a stranger from MN.  Thank you so much Helen, my dear friend!  I am forever grateful for your kindness and friendship!

So here is the photo of my swaps made from Embrace Life stamp set. I love this set!  I did have a passion for punch art from the very beginning!   What's your passion and who is the first person to ignite your fire?  Leave me a comment with your email address and I will pick out 3 winners to give away my Cute Critters Collection tutorial from this post.  If you already purchase this tutorial, I will send you my Frog Critter tutorial.  I will announce and send the tutorial to the winners on Monday after Easter.

Have a wonderful day!

Frog Critters

Happy First Day of Spring, everyone!  I made these cute Frog Critters for my son's class - the Bullfrogs.  It's so cute when they sing their song.

We are the Bullfrogs!
Mighty, mighty Bullfrogs.
Everywhere we go...
People want to know.
Who we are...
So we tell them.
We are the BULLFROGS!

I created the Frog Critter 3 years ago as seen on Becky's blog and now some of the punches have been retired.  I recreate these using the current products.  So I was wondering what do we call a group of frogs?  I look it up on www.allaboutfrogs.org website and this is the answer.

A group of fish is called a School of Fish.
A group of geese is called a Gaggle of Geese.
A group of sea gulls is called a Flock of Sea gulls.
A bunch of cows and bulls is called a Herd of Cattle.
But what do you call a group of frogs?
Answer: An ARMY of Frogs!

And what do you call a group of toads?
Answer: A KNOT of Toads!

By Golly, we can always learn something new!  I didn't ask for Toads and now I know. Have a ter"ribbit" day!

Edit to update:  I got a lot of requests for a tutorial for the frog critter.  So I am making this available for $1.99.

The Leprechaun

Thank you everyone who has purchased my tutorials and for all those kind and cute comments/emails you have sent my way!  I appreciate them very much!  If you still have trouble with your downloads or have not received your tutorials, please check your spam folder or contact me.

Today, I want to show the Leprechaun from my tutorial (as seen on this post) by himself so you can see the details more.  Changing his shoe color to green might bring them out more.  Try it!

Just a little story as I didn't know what all the business of being pinched on St. Patrick's Day meant.  My 4-year-old son, Jake, came home a few weeks ago and talked about the Leprechaun.  He was actually scared of it!  He talked about it pinching him on St. Patrick's Day.  I looked up and it said that if you wear green, the Leprechauns don't see you so you don't get pinched.  If there's no green, you'll get pinched for that reason!   I'll make sure Jake wears something green this Saturday so he's not scared of being pinched!

Have a great day!

St. Patrick's Day Collection

Happy Leap Year! I am excited to share with you my new designs - St. Patrick's Day Collection!

Growing up, I understand very little about St. Patrick's Day. Green, Shamrock, Leprechaun and Pot of Gold somehow symbolize the 17th of March. If I ever find a four leaf clover, I will be lucky and if I don't wear green I'll be pinched! So what do they all mean?

St. Patrick's Day Collection Tutorial

Everyone wants to find that Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow, right? How did it get there? Legend had it that the Leprechaun, which means the little two-feet tall shoemaker who loved to dance and made shoes, hid the gold coins they received from their earnings in the pot. The Rainbow started from the time of Noah's Ark and it symbolized hope from the past storm. Since we can never find the end of the Rainbow, we have to catch the Leprechaun in order to find that Pot of Gold. It's not easy to catch the Leprechaun so we might as well forget about finding that Pot of Gold! So let's find some Shamrocks and four leaf clovers instead! So why do we call it St. Patrick's Day then?

St. Patrick is the Patron Saint of Ireland. His birth name was Maewyn Succat. He was kidnapped at around the age of 16 as slave in Ireland. After 6 years, he escaped and managed to return to his family in Britain.

St. Patrick had a desire to return to Ireland as a missionary and studied to be a priest. In 432 Pope Celestine consecrated him as a Bishop of Ireland and gave him the name "Patricius".

St. Patrick returned to Ireland. He made extensive, successful missionary journeys through all of Ireland, spending his time preaching, teaching, building churches, opening schools, monasteries and converting the Irish people. He used the Shamrocks to explain to the people of Ireland the meaning of Trinity. St. Patrick died on March 17th, 461. You can read more about St. Patrick here. I am so glad I get a chance to create St. Patrick punch art in honor of this very day!

Four leaf clovers are rare and have been mutated from the three leaf clover. If anyone ever finds one, it's consider lucky. The four leaves represent faith, hope, love and luck. Perhaps, the luck will bring you to that pot of gold! :)

You can now purchase my St. Patrick's Day Collection tutorial for only $4.99 on Tutorials for Sale Page! The tutorial is in a downloadable Adobe PDF file following your purchase.

I hope you'll have fun creating this Collection as much as I did!

Cheers!

Robbing Heart Raccoon

This is the second Nugget Holder from my Cute Critters Collection - The Robbing Heart Raccoon!  Look at the mask!  There's always something mysterious about the raccoon's mask - it's so secretive!  It reminds me of Zoro.  He sure stole my heart!  This would be great for many occasions.

Stinkin' Cute Skunk

You're probably wondering when will I start with Valentines samples! I am going to take a break with Chinese New Year and post this instead. This is my Cute Critters Collection - the Stinkin' Cute Skunk!

Isn't he stinkin' cute? :) My husband used to have a strip of white hair in front like this, naturally. I used to tell him he looked like Jay Leno, but with opposite hair color. It's really the skunk look (but sh!!!). I guess going from the skunk look to Richard Gere look is not too bad! We are redeeming our coupon with Kim tonight and the boys are very excited to spend time with her. Ryan already has his Monopoly game packed and Jake told me not to pick him up!  Sorry boys, time limit is 2 hours! :)

If you like this skunk, make sure you sign up for Inking Everything with Becky!  You'll see more of my artwork there.

Edit for Update:  I've created tutorial for this critter.  You can view this and the rest of my Cute Critter Collection on my Tutorials for Sale page.

Enjoy Pepé Le Pew, Mi Amor!
